As an Instructional Designer, I’ve been developing course content and Power Points but did not have the skill to develop the content in an eLearning tool. The step-by-step instructions in this manual are incredible! Not only are the directions very easy to follow and explicit, by building the steps, you retain where functions and menus are located.

By the second or third chapter, I retained many of the navigational aspects by continually applying and practicing. Also, you are first taught how to do a particular function guided and then are given the opportunity to practice via an exercise Unguided with page references for the “how to” in case you forget how to do the step. Not only am I learning this tool quickly and efficiently but it is refreshing to see that the book is written following sound instructional methodology.

I liked the authors input of opinions about what works and what does not and I’m finding I’m agreeing with him I’ve already bought ‘Beyond the Essential’s. Nice book. It works great for those self teaching on Captivate, but you need a zip program to unzip files to work through the practices.
