Upon completing these tasks, Buzz is rewarded with a Pizza Planet token that allows him to progress to more difficult levels. Most of the enemies in the game are not seen in the movie excluding some bosses and are placed throughout the levels.

Some enemies have different abilities than others which include jumping, flying, firing projectiles, and blocking.

Most enemies, if not all, do damage to Buzz on contact. Enemy health is not displayed, aside from boss battles. Buzz is equipped with a few different attacks and powers to defeat enemies and progress through levels and the challenges they bring. Buzz has a basic laser attack that fires a single projectile from his arm that damages the enemy.

This attack can be charged up by holding the attack button to deal greater damage. Buzz also has a spinning attack that hits enemies with his pop-out wings and can also be used to deflect some enemy projectiles.

Similar to the laser attack, the spin attack can be charged to spin for a longer duration, although the charged spin attack leaves Buzz vulnerable by being stunned momentarily after the spinning. This move will be needed in later levels, as some enemies and bosses do not take damage from the laser. Another one of Buzz’s abilities is jumping and double-jumping.

In the first level of every zone, Mr. Potato Head will appear with one of his body parts missing. Nevermind, it’s working now. TwistedJester64 2 points. Toasty 2 points. Lotta good memories with this one, I think my brother and I played part of it “co-op” back on the folks’ computer with each of us handling half the controls. I don’t have one I played this as a demo when I was a little kid. When I got older, I was able to snag a copy so I could play the full game. Blew my mind on how good it was. It’s one of those games not a lot of people played or atleast nobody I knew , but I still thought had a certain charm.

Along with Tomba 2, this is one of my all time favorite ps1 game. Probably won’t download this pc version. Older games are notoriously bad with newer operating systems, even with patches.

Is anyone having this problem as well? JanHangbal 1 point. In TS2, I found this camera to be frustrating — during some sequences in gameplay it worked extremely well but in others it gave me mild motion sickness.

You do have the option of having a fixed camera or one that moves around, however neither was entirely successfully implemented. One area where this game exceeds expectations is in the size of the levels — they are huge! Not Donkey Kong 64 big, but larger than most of the platform games out there today. The graphics are average for a fifth generation N64 game that doesn’t require the expanded memory card. If you have Mario 64 who doesn’t? The audio in TS2 is okay but nothing that Randy Newman would put on his resume.

If you love the movie Toy Story 2 and haven’t played too many of the 3D platform games out there on the N64 then add this title to your library. But for me, this game wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

Kids and adults alike enjoyed the first Toy Story movie, with its brilliantly rendered characters and lifelike animation. Now a second feature-length Toy Story flick is on the way, and so is a game by the same name. Toy Story 2 is a third-person free-roaming platform game much in the same vein as Banjo-Kazooie.

As Buzz Lightyear, you must save Woody from an overzealous toy collector. There is also the evil Zurg Buzz Lightyear’s archnemesis to contend with on the toy-sized level, along with his band of hench-bots. Basically, you work your way through levels destroying enemy robots, collecting icons and taking on various tasks.

Overall, there’s around 10 movie-inspired levels, filled with this sort of gameplay. The first level, which starts inside of the house from the movie, really makes you feel like a toy roaming around an empty house.

Everything is proportioned properly, and there are plenty of areas to explore–from the top floor all the way down to the basement. Many of the characters from the original film are in the game as well.
